I saw Star Trek Into Darkness tonight, and it was beyond amazing. It was everything I had been waiting for, hoping and sort of dreading. I’m not much of a fan of 3D, but it was well done and didn’t give me a headache (for a change). The effects were great, Cumberbatch was brilliant, the rest of the actors were great as well and the onscreen chemistry was awesome. The story was really cool, the music was great, it was a continuous geekgasm! And I knew where it was leading to, thanks to a broad knowledge of Star Trek canon, and the hints of the trailer. I had been hoping as soon as I saw the trailer, because I am a total masochist who likes to stomp on her feelings.

Coincidentally, did anyone know that 3D glasses are great for hiding the tears that were totally not shed? Cause they are.
My only regret is the soundtrack doesn’t come out until the 28th, otherwise I would be listening to it right now. I am just going to continue geeking out until it does

Wow, I want these so bad, seriously, Chris Pine AND Bennedict Cumberbatch, looking suitably badass/sexy? How could I resist?

Sorry for the Star Trek Into Darkness spamming. Except not really. I loved the first one, and adding Bennedict Cumberbatch is only making it more epic. I do believe I may just die of happy come May, here’s hoping it doesn’t get delayed in Australia like SKYFALL and THE HOBBIT! If it does… there will be no containing the force of my rage!
Seriously, we didn’t get Skyfall until a fortnight later, and The Hobbit took three weeks even though it came out first in New Zealand which is pretty much just Super-East-Australia! GYAH! RAGE!!! It was almost worth making a surprise trip to see my relatives over the ocean and just ‘happening’ to go and see it.
Grumble grumble grumble. You can tell that I’m a geek when the thing I hate most about living in Australia isn’t the skin blistering heat or the deadly spiders in my toilet or the freaking venomous snakes in the carpark, but the fact that the movies I want to see are getting delayed!
RANT OVER.
